U.S. Army Corps of Engineers District Headquarters

Mobile, AL | 190,000 SF

FD Stonewater is the developer of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) District Headquarters in Mobile, AL. USACE will relocate from their existing regional headquarters in Mobile to a new 190,000 square foot build-to-suit office building located on the southeast portion of the Mobile Civic Center site, anchoring the intersection of Claiborne and Canal Streets. FD Stonewater worked closely with the City of Mobile to coordinate the office development with the city’s Civic Center redevelopment master plan and secure the ground lease. The Mobile City Council also approved funds for a new 1,000 car parking facility located adjacent to the new USACE building. The new building will meet modern design, sustainability, and federal security standards along with USACE programmatic requirements for secure office space, special use areas, and amenity spaces. The building will house multiple agency divisions and can accommodate the agency’s workforce growth projections. In addition, the project contemplates outdoor amenity space as well as a landscaped promenade.
