FD Stonewater developed this 68,564 SF build-to-suit border control station for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in McAllen, TX. This facility provides mission-critical services for the numerous surrounding border stations within this border region and offers additional land for the agency’s future expansion. Components of this project include a high-tech command center, administrative office spaces, processing areas, and multiple special use spaces such as a sally port and a separate vehicle maintenance facility. The facility was delivered on time and on budget even as the FD Stonewater team processed over $4 million worth of government-requested change orders without extending the schedule. This facility has been used as the backdrop for the Secretary of Homeland Security to make formal department policy announcements.
